This is an image that I took of the outside of my school's sixth form building in a wide shot. I chose this building as it is one of the school's newest buildings and it looks very modern. I wanted to use this image as it captures not only the building but the outside area so that people can see all the changes made to the area. The miss-en-scene that this image gives is that, the students are working in a beautiful and modern environment as you are able to see the new school building as well as the outside area which shows trees that are growing, the image is also bright and the outside looks clean so it gives the viewers a positive feel about the school.
I used this image as the main feature of a student in medium close up. I had to crop the image and crop one of the girls out because it was not in medium close up plus, one of the girls has her head turned to the camera, I also had to sharpen the image and make it look brighter as it looks dark so it is difficult to see the girl's face. The mise-en-scene that this image gives is that, the students in the school are happy with the environment that they work in as I have captured them in there natural environment so it doesn't look posed and fake, this makes it believable and people who would read this magazine would think that this is the truth about the school.
This is an image of a student in medium shot using the school's Apple Macs. I used this image as I felt that it would be good to focus on the facilities the school has as well as the students as I thought that people would want to know more about what the school has to offer. The mise-en-scene this gives is that the school has high-tech facilities available for students to use because it shows a student using an Apple mac, but the image allows you to focus more on the mac as you are unable to see the students face. This image will meet my target audience's needs of divergence as this allows them to keep an eye on things going on around school.
